Every year around this time I get peppered with e-mails of pictures/videos of cats in costumes. I received this one today and I thought I'd share it with you.

cat_wigs.jpgYou know, I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've thought about buying a wig for my cat. As luck would have it, there's a website online called Kitty Wigs that actually sells wigs for cats. Nuts eh?!

All joking aside, this is a real website and they create real custom wigs for domestic cats. The question that comes to my mind is how accepting would a typical cat be towards wearing a wig? Would your cat wear a wig? I know mine wouldn't.

I swear I've visited their website about ten times just to look at the pictures on the homepage. Hilarious. For those of you who might think that it's cruel to make your cat wear a wig for the sake of a photo op, Kitty Wigs gives us the following assurance:

We see it as a way for you to spend more quality time with your pet. It's an opportunity for you to show your cat something new and learn to introduce it with patience and positive reinforcement. It provides a very attentive experience and a chance for you to praise your cat and make a big fuss over her/him. Plus, hopefully you'll end up with some really fun photos! Remember, your attitude is key. And if your cat's not initially interested, don't force it.

Whatever you're into, you can check out their website out here. If you do manage to get your cat to wear a wig, please e-mail us the photos and we'll do a post about your cat. If you've managed to get your cat to wear a wig, share your stories below; we'd love to hear them.

For those who may have missed it on our blog, we're big fans of the popular Simon's Cat video series. The animation videos depict a needy cat that will do anything to get the attention of his owner.

Little did I know that the animated Simon's Cat series is based on the true story of a guy named Simon and his cat!

This amazing video shows Simon sleeping through the night with his cat rarely more than a few feet away from him. Check it out...

You can see the past Simon's Cat videos we've posted here:

This video is pretty funny. It has some classic cat video clips in it and then some new ones, that I haven't seen before. The only part of this video that I don't like is the video of the cat in the cage, who is clearly upset and we're laughing at him. I just feel bad for cats when they are in distress and people make a joke out of it. YOu'll know what I mean when you get to about 2:45. Other than that, enjoy!
